Bachelor of Biology from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, 1991
PhD from the Universidad Autonoma de Madrid, 2002
After completing my undergraduate studies perform the Master of Biotechnology at the Center of Molecular Biology "Severo Ochoa " from the Autonomous University of Madrid. Later I worked in different laboratories : Immunology of Hospital Gregorio Marañón (1994-1996) , which realized techniques of immunology and cell biology ; Laboratory of Retrovirology Research Center Hospital October 12 under the direction of Dr. Joseph Alcamí (1996-1999) , where he works on the study of HIV biology and cloning techniques , generation and amplification of plasmids, molecular biology techniques , development of transfection techniques and study of lymphocyte activation , expression and regulation of the correction of HIV. Study of mechanisms of action of compounds with activity against HIV , study specific targets , addiction experiments at different times. During this time I was responsible for the flow cytometer Research Center; In 2000 I moved to the National Center for Microbiology, Institute of Health Carlos III the Immunopathology Laboratory under the direction of Dr. Joseph Alcamí where I completed my doctoral thesis "Expression of CXCR4 and SDF- 1 in lymphocytes and dendritic cells. Implications in HIV Infection "(2002). In recent years I have been interested the study of host restriction factors that block the viral life cycle and new systems biology approaches to understand the interaction of HIV with the immune system.
